What this covers
Safe Bank Statement Converter (“we”, “us”) turns bank statement PDFs into Excel or CSV files. It is run by Zishan Khan, an individual in India. This page explains what happens to your information when you use the site, including the free account and paid plans we are adding. If something changes, we update this page first.
Your statements
The PDF is opened and converted on your own device, inside your browser. The file, the text in it and the spreadsheet we make from it do not leave your device. We cannot read them, and we do not keep copies. If the PDF has a password, it is used in your browser tab to open the file and is never saved or sent.
You can check this yourself: the converter shows “Bytes uploaded: 0”, and your browser’s network tab will show no upload. If we ever add a feature that needs a server to process a file, it will be off unless you switch it on, and we will update this page before it ships.
What we collect
Without an account: nothing about you. Your browser keeps a small counter on your own device to count your free conversions. It is not sent to us.
With a free account:
- your email address, so we can send you a sign-in link;
- how many statements you converted in the last 24 hours, to apply the daily limit;
- a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address when you ask for a sign-in link, kept for about two days, only so we can stop one person from flooding inboxes. We cannot turn it back into your address;
- a list of labels for your past conversions: file name, date, number of pages and whether the balance matched. Never the statement or its numbers.
With a paid plan: your plan, how many pages you have left and when they expire or renew. Payment is handled by Dodo Payments (see below), so we never see your card number.
A file name can contain personal details. You can remove any entry, or the whole list, from your dashboard at any time. The file name is wiped straight away. For the next 24 hours a nameless counter remains, so that clearing the list cannot be used to get around the daily limit.
Cookies and tracking
We use no advertising cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers. The free-conversion counter is kept in your browser’s local storage. When you sign in, we set a session cookie to keep you signed in for 30 days, plus a small marker cookie so the pages can show “Your account” instead of “Login”. That is all.
Who helps us run the site
Each of these gets only what its job needs:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and stores account data.
- Resend sends your sign-in email.
- Dodo Payments takes your payment and acts as the merchant of record, which means Dodo is the seller on your receipt, handles taxes and keeps payment records. It has its own privacy policy.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account yourself from your dashboard: your email, your list and your sessions are removed from our database straight away. Payment records are kept by Dodo and by us for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. Write tohello@safebankstatementconverter.com from the email address on your account.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. There is no password to leak, because you sign in with a link sent to your email. Most importantly, your statements never reach us, so there is nothing for us to lose. No system is perfect, and we will tell affected users if something goes wrong.
Changes and contact
When we change this page, we update the date at the top. If a change matters to account holders, we will email them. Questions go tohello@safebankstatementconverter.com.
