Kotak Mahindra Bank statement password
Kotak doesn’t publish its statement password, so we tested it on a real statement. Two passwords work: one from your name and birth date, one from your CRN.
Short answer
A statement Kotak emails you opens with either of these. We tried both on a real one:
- Statement emailed by Kotak: option 1The first four letters of your name in lowercase, then your date of birth as DDMM.
- Statement emailed by Kotak: option 2Your CRN, the number you log in to Kotak Net Banking with.
- Passwords
- Two: name + DDMM, or CRN

Which password is yours?
Either one opens the statement. The first uses your name and birth date; the second is your CRN, the number you log in to Kotak Net Banking with.
| Your statement | Password | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Statement emailed by Kotak: option 1 | The first four letters of your name in lowercase, then your date of birth as DDMM. | priy0503 |
| Statement emailed by Kotak: option 2 | Your CRN, the number you log in to Kotak Net Banking with. | 123456789 |
Kotak Mahindra Bank doesn’t publish its statement password, as far as we could find on its website and support accounts. These rules come from our own test: we opened a real statement Kotak emailed, in October 2026.
The password, piece by piece
Each box is one character, as on a bank form. Open “Work out yours” under a password to type your own details: the boxes fill in with your password, right here in the page.

How we know
We opened a real Kotak Mahindra Bank statement that the bank emailed, with the first four letters of the name in lowercase plus DDMM, and with the CRN.
We tested statements the bank emailed. A statement you download from net banking or the app may use a different password; if yours won’t open, ask Kotak, and please tell us so we can add it.
Open it and convert it, right here
Drop the locked PDF in the box. When it asks, type the password. The statement opens inside this browser tab and comes out as Excel or CSV (or, with a free account, as a file for Tally), with every row checked against the statement’s own balances.
The PDF and the password stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and you can check that yourself in your browser’s Network tab.
Tested on a real Kotak statement
A real 8-page Kotak account statement, read in the browser: 169 transactions, and the running balance matched the statement’s own opening and closing balance to the paisa.
Still won’t open?
Go down this list before you call the bank. Most locked-out moments are one of these.
- Try the other one. If your name and birth date don’t open it, try your CRN, and the other way round.
- Type it, don’t paste it. A pasted password can carry a space at the start or end, and PDF readers count it.
- Capitals matter. Kotak Mahindra Bank says the letters are in lowercase, and PDF passwords are case sensitive. Check Caps Lock.
- Two digits each. Day and month always take two digits: the 5th of March is 0503 as DDMM. Use the date of birth the bank has on record.
- Emailed, or downloaded? What we show opened statements Kotak emailed. If you downloaded yours from net banking or the app, it may use a different password.
- Download it again. A statement that didn’t finish downloading, or was forwarded and re-saved, can refuse every password. Get a fresh copy from the bank.
- Ask Kotak Mahindra Bank. Banks change these rules. We checked Kotak’s on 7 October 2026; if what we show no longer works, the bank can tell you, and we’d like to hear too so we can fix this page.
Questions
Where do I find my Kotak CRN?
Kotak lists four ways: it is printed on your Kotak debit card; it is in your welcome kit; you can send an SMS from your registered mobile number to +91 9971056767; or you can ask your branch or call Kotak’s helpline.
It’s a joint account. Whose details do I use?
For the CRN option, use the CRN of the first account holder.
The account is in my company’s name. Which CRN?
The CRN given to the company (or firm, trust, society and so on), not your personal one.
Has this converter been tested on a Kotak statement?
Yes. A real 8-page Kotak account statement converts to 169 rows, and the balance check comes out at zero difference. Every statement is checked the same way, so you’ll know if one doesn’t add up.
